Time capsules are an exciting way to celebrate and preserve a record of a particular time in history. A strong box is filled with a collection of objects and/or information from the time and is buried underground to be opened at a later date in the future. Intended as a method of communicating with people in the future, time capsules are usually created and buried on special occasions or celebrations. The oldest time capsules found were in temples from the ancient civilisations in Egypt and Babylon.
